In a month's time I will be back at school and the enormity of the Summer homework schedule has just sunk in. I've been ploughing through some Civil Litigation and Criminal Litigation homework, but there's just so much left to do. I have an Opinion to do, a Writing Skills workbook to fill in, some Drafting homework, preparation for the start of the Negotiation module and also preparation for the commencement of the Examination-in-Chief element of Advocacy (which I know nothing about at all). Oh, and I must also find time to spend a day in court and prepare a written report on the case. None of it looks easy, most of the subject matter is new, so I'll need to spend time researching unfamiliar areas of law.
Back in June it all looked achievable, but now in mid-August it's not going quite as planned.
Crikey! 8 exams, countless mocks, options, homework, revision for MCT...
One day I'll laugh about all of this, but right now I need chocolate.

No need to panic :)
I finished the BPP BVC (Full Time) this summer, so I've just completed all the modules you're worrying about. They all come right in the end... The Written Skills workbook doesn't take very long once you get going either.
If you get stuck, shout and I'll see what pointers I can find for you!
Oh thankyou so much Chris, I'll see how I get on with it all in the next week or so.
The best advice I can offer on this lot is - make sure you don't wonk yourself up into a frenzy about the workload and end up procrastinating. It is all very do-able so just take it one task at a time. Bottom line - Don't fear it, just get on with it. G'luck.
Thanks Templar, I just feel a bit overwhelmed with it all at the moment, not least because I'm busy with my 'proper job' too.
I've finished the Crim Lit a few minutes ago, so at least I can tick that one off the list. I'm now trying to persuade myself that I ought to at least do a little reading into another topic this evening (*yawns and wallows pathetically in self pity*) :-)
My Dear Maid,
Whilst you face an undeniably heavy workload, I have absolutely no doubt, that, given the stalwart manner in which you applied yourself to your first year, that you will not only be completely determined, and completely organised in your endevour, but that you will triumph.
I forsee a definate VC - so you simply MUST prove me WRONG and get an outstanding!!
You can do it, I know you can.
Maid, have you thought about doing something extra. You know, to give you that edge and make your c.v. stand out. This perhaps ?

Ooh I'm not sure that I'm ready to undertake such an onerous task. Perhaps if they let me take my Mum with me, just in case I get in a tizz with my bus fare:-)
You will be fine maid!
Just think this time last year there were 13 assessments ahead of you - and you now have 5 under your belt!!
Poor you re all that reading. At least at Sh*tty Law School we did the assessments one by one and had nothing to worry about over the summer!! You will come out of it knowing so much more though - ready to jump on the pupillage treadmill running!!
Thanks LG. I suppose I'm just a bit concerned about next year as I struggled to cope with the workload in the first year. Oh well, I suppose if it was easy everyone would do it.
And You? Any joy with the unmentionable 'p' word?
Honestly - after the EVILE research is out of the way its all down hill from there.
No Ps - but I will keep on trying as we all must!!!
negotiation - wrong way - suggest you split the difference.
right way - think up entirely spurious reason to offer them something between your position and theirs. maybe midway between will be what the facts suggest in this particular case.
you heard it here first.
I've heard that Negotiation is a tricky module, in fact I don't think I've heard anyone say that they liked it.
done real life business negotiations, it makes it rather harder to get your head around it, because the bvc version bears no relationship to real world horse trading! but if you do what they tell you, you will get decent marks. don't think - do.
